Favian Valencia
Born in Illinois to loving migrant, Mexican, Catholic, farmworker parents, Favian moved with the agricultural seasons across the country before his family settled in Yakima, Washington. He grew up working alongside his family in the orchards, where he learned the value of hard work, honesty, respect, and perseverance. Those early lessons motivated him to pursue his education, eventually graduating from Davis High School, Gonzaga University, and the University of Dayton School of Law.

In 2011, Favian started his own law firm, Sunlight Law, focusing on civil rights. His work centers on representing individuals against powerful institutions, including corporations, cities, the State of Washington, and the federal government. Our country needs government and thriving businesses, but when these become abusive and hurt people, we need to hold them accountable. He has served in various roles at the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington State Association for Justice, past president of the Latino Bar Association of Washington, as a Governor-appointed member of the Washington State Board of Accountancy, and as the host of the Soul Centered Attorney Podcast.
Favian is a co-owner of Ama Cafe with his mom and three sisters, a family business built around the mission of enriching the community through healthy and tasty nourishment. He stays active in the community by teaching acrobatic partner yoga, DJing, attending music festivals, and spending time outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter. He is also a dedicated runner, having completed more than 60 marathons and ultramarathons.
